Say what you want about your waist line but your refrigerator’s energy usage can be trimmed. So, why not try these simple things and help save energy and money.
First make sure your refrigerator and freezer seals fit tightly when the doors close.
Second, keep outside coils clean. Dirty coils make your refrigerator’s compressor work longer to remove heat.
Also try to set your refrigerator’s temperature between 34 and 37 degrees, and your freezer’s temperature to somewhere between 0 and 5 degrees.
Finally, don’t forget to unplug any unused refrigerators or freezers. That fridge in your garage might be costing you more each month than the extra storage is worth.
